Pakistan, China reaffirm unwavering commitment to strategic cooperation

Doha (Web Desk): Pakistan and China have once again expressed their strong commitment to further strengthen their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, founded on deep mutual trust, respect, and a collective desire for regional stability and prosperity.

The renewed pledge came during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development being held in Doha.

Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement and coordination on matters of shared concern at regional and international levels, reaffirming their intent to advance cooperation across diverse spheres.

President Zardari, recalling his recent visit to China, described the two nations as “iron brothers” whose friendship has stood the test of time.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to Beijing for its steadfast and unwavering support to Pakistan through all challenges, emphasizing that relations with China remain central to Pakistan’s foreign policy.

The President also praised China’s enduring collaboration in the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), highlighting that the project has now entered its second phase of high-quality growth and development.

Vice President Han Zheng reiterated China’s resolve to assist Pakistan’s economic advancement under the ongoing phase of CPEC, particularly through enhanced cooperation in infrastructure, transport, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training sectors.
