Faisal Vawda meets Maulana Fazlur Rehan to discuss proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment

Islamabad (Web Desk): Senator Faisal Vawda has recognized Maulana Fazlur Rehman as an influential figure in Pakistan’s political sphere, stating that his perspective and endorsement are essential for the nation's political stability.

Vawda shared that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will independently make a decision regarding the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

He clarified that the 18th Amendment will remain intact and, with the current level of support, the prospects of the 27th Amendment passing are looking favorable.

In terms of constitutional changes, Vawda emphasized the need for thorough consultation and open discussions, proposing that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should also be included in the process to ensure broad consensus.

On the subject of national security, Vawda pointed out that defense today is not just about traditional military strength but also includes non-conventional threats like cyber warfare and economic competition on the global stage. He stressed that strengthening Pakistan’s armed forces is crucial for ensuring the country’s overall security.
