Effects of Iran War: Putin says Russia may consider halting gas supplies to Europe

Moscow (Web Desk): Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated that, in light of the ongoing war in the Middle East and rising energy prices, Russia is considering the possibility of stopping gas supplies to Europe.

He noted that the European Union is attempting to impose sanctions on Russian gas and LNG, and if these measures are implemented, redirecting exports to other global markets, such as China, could be beneficial for Russia.

According to international media, Russia is now looking to expand its gas and oil sales to other markets as European dependence on Russian energy decreases.

Meanwhile, the conflict in the Middle East has entered its sixth day. The United States and Israel have carried out airstrikes on Iran, affecting civilians as well, while Iran has retaliated by targeting US. bases and Israeli military installations.

At the same time, the US. is reportedly in contact with Iraqi Kurdish forces to potentially conduct ground operations against Iran, though the Kurdish forces remain hesitant to take part at this stage.
