Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday underscored the pressing need for calm and restraint to prevent further escalation and to preserve peace and stability in the Middle East as well as the surrounding region.

He expressed these views while meeting the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, who called on him at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a statement issued by the DPM’s Office, the two discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged perspectives on the evolving situation.

During the meeting, Dar also acknowledged the Commonwealth’s continued engagement with Pakistan but informed the visiting envoy that he would not be able to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) due to prevailing regional circumstances.
