China introduces world’s first biomimetic robot equipped with AI

Beijing  (Web Desk): Chinese tech firm DroidUp has unveiled ‘Moya,’ a humanoid robot designed to closely mimic human appearance and movements. One of the robot’s standout features is its skin temperature, which ranges between 32 to 36 degrees Celsius, giving it a realistic warmth similar to that of a human being.

Li Chengdu, the founder of DroidUp, emphasized that for a robot to convincingly resemble a real person, it must also feel warm to the touch. According to him, the warmth of the skin is a critical factor in creating a lifelike robot. Moya’s gait and mannerisms are reported to be about 92% similar to those of a human, thanks to sophisticated engineering and robotics.

Equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI), Moya is being positioned as the world’s first biomimetic AI robot. The robot’s advanced AI enables it to perform complex interactions, including responding to human emotions and exhibiting facial expressions that closely resemble those of humans. Cameras embedded in Moya’s eyes allow it to engage in conversations and recognize environmental cues, enhancing its interactive capabilities.

The creators envision Moya serving various roles such as a companion or friend for humans, as well as applications in healthcare and education sectors. Its ability to communicate and display empathy could make it a valuable aid in settings where human interaction is essential.

In a notable achievement, Moya competed in the world’s first robot half-marathon race in April 2025, where it earned a bronze medal, showcasing both its endurance and mobility.

Looking ahead, DroidUp plans to launch Moya commercially in 2026, with an estimated price of around $173,000. This launch marks a significant milestone in robotics, signaling a new era where humanoid robots could become more integrated into daily human life.
