Punjab govt organises Kashmir Solidarity Day event at Lahore's Liberty Chowk

Lahore (Web Desk): The provincial government held a solemn event at Liberty Chowk to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took the lead, igniting a candle in remembrance of the Kashmiri struggle for their rights.

She also honored the memory of the Kashmiri martyrs by placing a wreath at the memorial dedicated to their bravery and sacrifices.

The ceremony included a moment of silence, followed by special prayers for those who gave their lives in the fight for Kashmir’s freedom, as well as for the enduring plight of the people still living under oppression.

The venue featured a poignant display of images capturing the history of Kashmir's struggle, and large posters depicted the Wall of Martyrs, paying tribute to those who have fought for the region's autonomy.

In a striking display of the ongoing hardship faced by Kashmiris, a symbolic prison was set up, showcasing photographs of political leaders and martyrs who remain imprisoned.

The event overall underscored the relentless adversity endured by the Kashmiri people for more than seventy years, while also emphasizing the continued need for global attention and justice for their cause.
