OpenAI has launched the social media app ‘Sora 2’

California (Web Desk): OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, has introduced a new social media application called ‘Sora 2’.

According to a blog post by OpenAI, ‘Sora 2’ is now available on the Apple App Store and will soon be launched on the Google Play Store as well.

What sets this app apart is its dual functionality: it acts both as an AI video generation platform and as a social media app similar to TikTok and Instagram. Users can create AI-generated video clips by providing text prompts and then share these videos directly within the app.

Currently, ‘Sora 2’ does not have a web or desktop version, meaning users cannot access it on computers or laptops. However, OpenAI plans to release a desktop version in the future, allowing users to enjoy the app’s features on the web just like they do on mobile devices.
