OpenAI developing TikTok-style app with fully AI-Generated videos

California (Web Desk): OpenAI, the company that has played a revolutionary role in modern technology, is now preparing to enter the world of social media. According to sources, the company is secretly working on a TikTok-style application named "Sora 2", which will feature an entirely AI-generated video feed.

According to reports by international media outlets Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, the app will allow users to create short videos—up to 10 seconds long—using OpenAI’s video generator, Sora. Interestingly, users will not be able to upload any content from their own gallery; all videos will be created purely through artificial intelligence.

A sophisticated identity verification feature is also being introduced, enabling users to confirm their identity via facial recognition. Verified users will be able to incorporate their likeness into AI-generated videos, and—with permission—others may also use their face in content creation.

A key aspect of the app is that if someone’s face is used in a video, they will be notified—even if the video is still in draft and hasn’t been posted.

To address copyright concerns, the app will implement an "opt-out" system that allows content creators to formally request the exclusion of their copyrighted materials from AI use. Additionally, public figures' faces or likenesses cannot be used without their explicit consent.

Sources reveal that OpenAI launched the app internally last week, and initial feedback from employees has been positive.

Although the company has yet to officially confirm the project, this development could pose a potential challenge to platforms like TikTok.
