Peshawar (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faisal Karim Kundi took oath as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) on Saturday.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Ishtiaq Ibrahim administered the oath to him in a ceremony held at Governor House in Peshawar.

Faisal Karim Kundi belongs to Dera Ismail (DI) Khan.

Born in May 1975, Faisal Karim Kundi received his primary education from St. Peter's School, Karachi.

He started his political career from the 2001 local government elections.

Kundi was elected as a member of the National Assembly in the 2008 general elections and made history when he was appointed the country’s youngest deputy speaker.

Until today, he was holding the position of PPP’s central information secretary and a member of the central executive committee as well as the foreign liaison committee.

Earlier today, President Asif Ali Zardari has accorded his approval to the appointment of governors for Punjab, KP and Balochistan provinces.

According to a press release issued by the President Secretariat release on Saturday, Sardar Slaeem Haider Khan has been appointed as Governor Punjab, Faisal Karim Kundi as Governor KP and Jaffar Khan Mandokhel as Governor Balochistan.

The president approved the appointments under Article 101 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
