Islamabad (Web Desk): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi held a meeting on Monday with United States Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker, where both sides discussed prospects for investment and development cooperation in the province across multiple sectors.
The meeting focused on potential foreign investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in minerals, tourism, energy, health, and education.
The governor highlighted that the province is rich in valuable and rare mineral resources, presenting significant opportunities for international investors.
Both sides also discussed ways to expand educational scholarships for students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the merged tribal districts, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening development cooperation for sustainable economic growth.
Governor Kundi underlined the role of private sector participation and foreign investment in achieving long-term development goals. He also invited American investors to explore opportunities in energy, tourism, minerals, and healthcare sectors within the province.
The US Charge d’Affaires expressed interest in supporting modern training and skill development initiatives for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The discussions further covered the overall law and order situation in the province and the promotion of sports talent.
Governor Kundi informed the visiting diplomat that the Khyber Cricket League is scheduled to be held in July. He also stressed the importance of enhancing trade relations and proposed increased exchange of trade delegations between Pakistan and the United States to boost bilateral trade.
Meanwhile, Natalie Baker congratulated the governor on the Pakistan Peoples Party’s success in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, while Kundi credited the victory to the leadership and campaign efforts of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and party workers.
Later, Governor Kundi hosted a luncheon in honor of the US Charge d’Affaires.
