GOA (Web Desk): (Web Desk): Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in India's Goa on Thursday to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)'s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).
Indian officials welcomed the foreign minister at the airport.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO), FM Bilawal is leading Pakistan's delegation at the SCO CFM meeting at the invitation of the current Chair of SCO-CFM, Dr S. Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs of the Republic of India.
"Our participation in the meeting reflects Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter and processes and the importance that Pakistan accords to the region in its foreign policy priorities,” the FO spokesperson said.
Ahead of his departure, FM Bilawal also posted a video on Twitter saying that his decision to attend this meeting illustrates Pakistan’s strong commitment to the charter of SCO.
The foreign minister added that he was looking forward to engaging bilaterally with the countries that are part of the international forum.
