Sindh CM pays tribute to slain Iranian leaders, calls high-level security meeting

Karachi (Web Desk): Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, visited the Iranian Consulate in Karachi today to express profound grief over the assassination of Iran’s top leadership, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

At the consulate, CM Shah met with Akbar Issazadeh, the Iranian Consul General, and personally conveyed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Sindh.

During the meeting, he highlighted the contributions of Iran’s leaders to regional stability and international diplomacy, describing their loss as a blow not only to Iran but to the wider Islamic world. CM Shah also signed the condolence book, expressing solidarity and reaffirming the province’s support for Iran during this tragic period.

In addition to the consulate visit, the Sindh Chief Minister called an urgent meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee. This decision comes amid evolving security threats in Karachi and across the province, particularly in light of recent incidents raising concerns over terrorism and public safety.

The committee is expected to review current security measures, assess emerging risks, and develop strategies to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions, critical infrastructure, and the general public.

Officials emphasized that the meeting would also coordinate with federal agencies and law enforcement to bolster intelligence and preventive measures. CM Shah’s dual actions—expressing condolences and strengthening provincial security—demonstrate Sindh’s focus on both international solidarity and domestic safety in a period of heightened regional tensions.
