Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his warm wishes to the Hindu community celebrating Holi and underscored the importance of nationwide measures to encourage interfaith dialogue, protect religious sites, and foster mutual respect across society.
In his Holi message, the prime minister said, “Today, let us renew our shared commitment to building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous nation, guided by the principles of tolerance, empathy, and unity.”
He noted that the festival of Holi embodies social harmony through its vibrant display of colors and reflects the rich cultural diversity of Pakistan.
The prime minister recognized the Hindu community as an integral part of the nation, highlighting their positive role in promoting social cohesion, contributing to economic growth, and supporting peaceful coexistence.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees freedom of religion and protects the human rights of every citizen, without distinction of race, color, religion, or belief, and affirmed that the government is committed to safeguarding the rights of all minorities.
He added that the government has undertaken several initiatives to strengthen these values, including the Policy for Interfaith Harmony (2025) and the Strategy for Religious Tolerance (2025).
