Islamabad (Web Desk): Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed has been appointed as new chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
As per a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Saturday, the appointment had been made after a consensus between the prime minister and the opposition leader.
Last month Aftab Sultan resigned from the office as NAB chairman.
Sultan, a former director general of the intelligence bureau, was appointed as chief of the accountability bureau last year.
On February 25, Zahir Shah assumed office as the acting chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Zahir Shah was serving chief of the anti-graft watchdog until the appointment of new chairman.
