Google to set up Chromebook factory in Punjab, transforming EdTech

Lahore  (Web Desk): Global tech company Google has offered to set up a local manufacturing facility for Chromebooks (laptops) in Punjab.

During a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore, Kevin Kallis, Global Director of Google for Education, and Umar Farooq, CIO of Tech Valley, shared the details of the project.

The delegation informed that the new Chromebooks would come pre-installed with educational software such as Jamboard, Read Along, and Canva.

The Chief Minister assured complete administrative and technical support for the project and stated that the provincial government is taking steps to make Punjab a hub for IT and Artificial Intelligence.

This initiative will not only boost the local educational technology industry but also enhance the quality of digital education in government schools.
