Sialkot Stallions rebranded as Multan Sultans ahead of PSL 11

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise formerly known as Siālkot Stallions has officially been renamed Multan Sultans ahead of PSL Season 11. The announcement was confirmed on Tuesday by PSL CEO Salman Naseer.

The declaration came during a joint press conference attended by franchise owner Hamza Majeed and Goher Shah, head of CD Ventures.

During the team auction in Islamabad, OZD Developers had acquired the Siālkot Stallions franchise for 10 years at Rs18.5 billion. Now, the company has formed a strategic partnership with CD Ventures.

As part of this agreement, Goher Shah has been appointed CEO of the franchise, and the team’s name has been changed to Multan Sultans.

According to PSL CEO Salman Naseer, this change has increased the franchise’s annual valuation to Rs2 billion. Naseer added that the request for renaming the team was made by Goher Shah after taking over as CEO and was approved.

In recent weeks, there had been speculation surrounding the Siālkot Stallions, including reports of OZD Developers selling shares and facing financial challenges.

At the press conference, Goher Shah confirmed that he has officially joined the franchise as CEO and expressed his aim to strengthen representation for South Punjab in the league.

He said, “A Stallion alone cannot win the PSL; to move forward, a Stallion needs a Sultan. We have arrived as the Sultan. Preserving Multan’s identity was extremely important to us.”

Pakistan Super League Season 11 is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
