Lahore (Web Desk): The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a 7% increase in toll tax on the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M-2), with the revised rates set to take effect from July 5.
According to an official notification issued by the NHA, cars, jeeps and taxis will be charged Rs3.98 per kilometre.
Vans will pay Rs6.68 per kilometre, while coaster vehicles will be charged Rs9.34 per kilometre.
The notification further states that buses will pay Rs13.32 per kilometre, trucks Rs17.33 per kilometre, and heavy trucks more than Rs22 per kilometre in toll charges on the M-2.
The NHA said the increase has been implemented under a 20-year agreement signed with a private company responsible for the operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of the motorway.
According to the authority, the latest revision represents the contractual 7% increase applicable in the agreement's 13th year.
