DPM Dar in Beijing to co-chair strategic dialogue with China

Beijing (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will co-chair the seventh session of the China-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, a two-day meeting scheduled to begin on Sunday in Beijing.

The discussions are expected to take stock of cooperation across all sectors, explore new opportunities for collaboration, and further strengthen the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership that underpins relations between the two countries.

The engagement highlights the enduring and close bond often described as the “ironclad friendship” between Pakistan and China.

The Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue represents the most senior consultative forum between the two sides, offering a structured setting to review the entire range of bilateral ties. 
Economic and commercial links continue to form the backbone of this relationship.

Data released by China’s General Administration of Customs shows that bilateral trade reached 23.06 billion dollars in 2024, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 11.1 percent.

Earlier this evening, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing, where he was received by China’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.

During his visit, he will also take part in activities marking the commencement of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with both sides planning a series of initiatives and commemorative events to be observed throughout the year.
