Karachi (Staff Report): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has suspended the provincial government's notification to hand over Bagh Ibne-Qasim to Bahria Town.
A two-member bench of the court headed by Justice Junaid Ghaffar on Monday heard a petition regarding Sindh government’s decision to hand over the city’s iconic park to real estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain of Bahria Town.
“Handing over of the park to Bahria Town is illegal. The decision should be reversed immediately,” the court observed.
The court also issued notices to Sindh government, Secretary Municipality, and Bahria Town for April 18.
