Bannu / Lakki Marwat (Web Desk): The security forces successfully thwarted a major assault on the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Lines in Bannu on Tuesday, resulting in the elimination of four militants.
According to reports, the attack began when a group of armed insurgents drove a vehicle loaded with explosives directly into the perimeter wall of the FC compound.
The resulting detonation injured at least five security personnel, among them a Station House Officer (SHO).
Immediately after the blast, the attackers attempted to breach the facility by opening fire, but the vigilant security forces swiftly engaged and repelled the assailants. The fierce exchange left four terrorists dead, while the injured officers are reported to be stable and are undergoing medical care at a nearby hospital.
This incident marks the second significant security breach in Bannu in a short span. Just days earlier, an unmanned quadcopter drone targeted an FC checkpoint in the area, killing one soldier and wounding three others.
Separately, in Lakki Marwat’s Machan Khel Adda locality, two police officers lost their lives when unknown gunmen launched a sudden attack, according to officials from the City Police Station.
Authorities continue to investigate these coordinated assaults, emphasizing ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
