Islamabad (Staff Report): National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Investigation Officer of Avenfield reference Imran Dogar on Wednesday told the Accountability Court that daughter of former Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz had submitted the fake trust deeds and Nawaz was the owner of the London flats while he was holding public office.
Judge Mohammad Bashir conducting corruption proceedings against the Sharif family recorded the statement of Imran Dogar who is the last witness in the case.
The investigative officer also said that the properties were purchased through offshore companies in someone else’s name, allegedly “to hide the ownership”.
The investigating officer added that the London flats were in the use of Nawaz and his family since 1993 while asserting that the suspects failed to prove a source of income for purchasing the properties.
It is pertinent to remember that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were failed to appear before the court today as their lawyer had appealed of one day exemption from the court.
