Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday extended appreciation to Pakistan Navy for conducting successful anti-narcotics operation in Northern Arabian Sea.
According to a press statement issued by the PM Office, the premier said that this is a very significant milestone in the anti-narcotics campaign.
PM Shehbaz said that the Pakistan Navy played a central role in preventing drug smuggling on the country’s maritime defense and sea routes.
The nation is proud of the personnel of the Pakistan Navy, the prime minister added.
Earlier, the Pakistan Navy successfully seized a large consignment of drugs during a successful anti-narcotics operation in the North Arabian Sea.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, (ISPR), Pakistan Navy Ship MOAWIN conducted a boarding operation on a suspicious boat, and seized the narcotics, which were hidden in the secret compartments of the boat.
It added that the seized drugs have an estimated international market value of around $1 million. This consignment of drugs was being transported via sea routes to international destinations.
“The Pakistan Navy is always active in preventing all kinds of illegal activities within the maritime boundaries of the region,” the statement said.
