WhatsApp working on a new subscription plan for users

California (Web Desk): WhatsApp is working on a new subscription plan for its users, offering access to additional features.

 According to a report by Wabetainfo, the new subscription plan is currently being tested in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices.

Under this subscription plan, users will get access to exclusive features that will not be available to non-subscribers. The most notable feature is that subscribers will be able to customize the WhatsApp icon on their home screen. Additionally, they will be able to pin more than three chats, whereas currently, WhatsApp only allows users to pin up to three chats.

Reports suggest that this subscription plan will be optional, meaning that core features such as messaging, voice calls, video calls, and end-to-end encryption will remain free for all users. However, the cost of the subscription plan has not yet been disclosed, and it is expected that the price may vary across different countries.

This decision comes after Meta's testing of subscription services on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which could be a new step to increase the company's revenue streams. While it is unclear when this subscription service will be introduced, WhatsApp users are eagerly awaiting this new initiative.
