CM Maryam launches Punjab Transport Company with eco-friendly electric buses

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially inaugurated the "Punjab Transport Company" to provide the public with modern, affordable, and eco-friendly transportation facilities. The initiative aims to reduce smog and environmental pollution in cities while offering citizens an international-standard transport system.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Lahore, was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and other cabinet members. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz thoroughly inspected the new electric bus (Electro Bus) and personally reviewed the amenities provided for passengers. She praised the bus's quality and the arrangements made for passenger comfort.

Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan briefed the Chief Minister, stating that these electric buses are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, mobile charging ports, comfortable seating, and an air-conditioned environment. To ensure the safety of women, separate compartments have been allocated, and each bus is fitted with modern CCTV cameras connected to a control room to prevent harassment and enhance security.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that every day brings a new piece of good news for the people of Punjab. This electric bus project is a realization of the "Green Punjab" vision, which will not only solve traffic issues but also reduce the travel expenses burden on the common man. She directed that all possible measures be taken to ensure passenger convenience at bus routes and stops.
