Islamabad (Staff Report): The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday declared former premier Nawaz Sharif absconder in Avenfield and Al Azizia cases.
A two-member bench, comprising Justices Aamer Farooq and Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, heard the appeals filed by Nawaz himself.
During the hearing, Deputy Attorney General Tayyab Shah informed the court that proclamations issued by the IHC were published in all newspapers in English.
Earlier, the court had directed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo to present himself before the court on September 9.
On July 6, 2018, the accountability court had announced the verdict in the Avenfield properties corruption reference filed by the NAB, handing the ousted prime minister 10 years as jail time for owning assets beyond known income and 1 year for not cooperating with anti-graft buster.
