Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed the confidence that the Federal Boar of Revenue (FBR) will comfortably achieve the annual tax collection target of Rs5,829 billion.
In a tweet, the premier said that the FBR collected Rs850 billion during the first two months of current fiscal year, exceeding its own target figure by 23 percent.
“This reflects growth of 51 percent in revenue over the same period last year,” PM Imran added.
Good news on tax collection. FBR collected Rs.850 bn during July & August 2021, exceeding its own target figure by 23% & reflecting growth of 51% in revenue over same period last yr. At present rate, annual collection target of Rs.5,829 bn will be comfortably achieved InshaAllah.

On July 31, Prime Minister Imran Khan had also commended the efforts of FBR in achieving record revenue collection during the month of July.
The premier said this record collection of the revenue worth Rs410 billion which is highest ever in the month of July and 22 % above the required target for the month.
“This is a reflection of the government's policies for sustained economic growth and revival,” PM Imran said.
