Punjab CM inaugurates 'Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre' in Murree's Samli

Murree (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre at Syed Muhammad Hussain Government Samli Hospital in Murree on Wednesday, marking what she described as a significant milestone for healthcare in the hill station.

Addressing the gathering, she said that the hospital has been modernized with a cutting-edge Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and advanced medical equipment, where heart specialists and trained staff will remain on duty around the clock to provide uninterrupted treatment.

She also underlined that this was the first time since the hospital’s founding in 1930 that it had undergone such an extensive renovation and upgradation.

To ease travel for patients heading from Murree to Samli Hospital, the chief minister announced that three dedicated buses will be operated for this purpose.

Expanding on her government’s health vision, she further revealed that a 100-bed hospital is planned for Kotli Sattian and another 50-bed medical facility will be built in Bhurban.

Maryam Nawaz also drew attention to the success of mobile health initiatives, noting that the Clinic on Wheels project and Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics have already become functional across Murree.

Shifting to infrastructure, she said local schools are being improved while the historic Mall Road is currently being overhauled through a rehabilitation project involving an investment of billions of rupees.

She emphasized that tourism is also receiving focused attention, with a new tourism force established under Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb to promote the area’s attractions.

The government, she added, is also restoring wildlife parks such as Bansra Gali Park and setting up a new biodiversity park to safeguard the natural environment of the region.
In terms of transport development, Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of a train service between Rawalpindi and Murree.

She also pledged that 15 eco-friendly green buses will soon be available in Murree, offering free travel facilities to women, senior citizens and people with disabilities.
