Hamas raises concerns over Trump peace plan, demands Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, guarantees for leaders' safety

Gaza (Web Desk): The Palestinian group Hamas has demanded amendments to the 20-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The group is calling for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and international guarantees that its leaders will not be targeted for assassination.

According to Palestinian sources, Hamas is expected to issue an official response within two to three days. The group has expressed serious reservations about several clauses in the plan, particularly the condition requiring Hamas to be fully disarmed.

Sources also revealed that Hamas negotiators have recently held meetings in Doha with Turkish, Egyptian, and Qatari officials to discuss the proposed plan through diplomatic consultations.

It is important to note that under the American plan, Hamas is to be completely disarmed and excluded from any future government roles. However, the plan offers amnesty to individuals who agree to remain peaceful.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that Israeli forces will continue to maintain a presence in most areas of Gaza — a stance seen as a major obstacle to the implementation of the peace plan.
