OpenAI rolls out easier model switching in ChatGPT interface

California (Web Desk): OpenAI has quietly introduced a significant update to its ChatGPT interface, aiming to make model selection easier and more accessible for users.

The company’s AI chatbot, OpenAI, now offers a redesigned interface for Plus, Pro, and Business users, allowing them to switch between different models directly within the chat screen. Previously, these options were hidden in a top menu and were less noticeable for many users.

With the new update, users can choose between three main modes: “Instant” for fast responses, “Thinking” for more detailed and in-depth answers, and “Configure” for automatic model selection based on the task.

The Instant mode is designed to deliver quick replies, while Thinking is better suited for complex queries that require deeper reasoning. Meanwhile, the Configure option allows the system to automatically select the most appropriate model, ranging across newer and older versions depending on the task.

This update is expected to improve user experience by making ChatGPT more flexible, efficient, and easier to control according to individual needs.
