Interior Minister Naqvi urges citizens to record protests peacefully

Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called on citizens to avoid taking the law into their own hands, urging them to record their protest in peaceful means.

In a video message issued on Sunday, he stated that the nation shares the sorrow of Iran following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, describing the day as one of mourning for both the Muslim Ummah and the people of Pakistan and Iran alike.

Meanwhile, the Interior Minister toured critical areas of the federal capital, including the Red Zone and the Diplomatic Enclave, to assess the security situation.

During his visit, he examined the existing arrangements and instructed officials to guarantee comprehensive and foolproof protection in the Diplomatic Enclave.

Naqvi emphasized that peaceful protests are a legitimate right of the public, but warned that any disorder or chaos under the guise of demonstration would not be tolerated. 
He further directed that security measures be thorough and all-encompassing, and stressed that the law will take its course against any disruption to normal life.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, accompanied the minister and provided a briefing on the current law and order scenario in the city.
