President, PM urge nation to strive for better, stronger Pakistan in 2025

Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended greetings to the people of Pakistan and the international community on the occasion of the New Year.

In their messages, they prayed for the eradication of hunger, poverty, war, terrorism, crime, sectarianism, and class division, not just in Pakistan but globally in 2025.

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Pakistani nation and the international community on the beginning of the new year with an exhortation to the nation urging it to review the successes and failures of the past year to learn from it and strive for a better year ahead.

The president prayed for the development and prosperity of the country and the nation at the beginning of the new year.

“May the new year bring peace, stability, progress and prosperity to the nation. I hope that the new year will be a year of progress and prosperity and peace and stability at the global level. To get the country out of the challenges, the nation has to work with unity, discipline, continuous hard work and dedication,” he said.

President Zardari added that the youth of the country should be invested in developing their skills by providing opportunities and in order to make Pakistan strong, the focus should be on the development of the poor.

At the beginning of the year, he said the nation should resolve to work hard for public service, peace and stability. “I pray to Allah that the new year will be a year of success for the country,” the president said.

In his felicitation message on the advent of the New Year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to collectively strive for a better and stronger Pakistan in 2025.

“The outgoing year was the worst year in terms of Israeli atrocities in Palestine, with the occupying forces committing unprecedented acts of cruelty. Similarly, in Indian Illegally

Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), our oppressed brothers and sisters suffered under the brutality of the Indian occupying forces,” the premier said.

He expressed the hope that in 2025, Palestine and IIOJK achieve success in their struggle for freedom.

Referring to country's economic situation, PM Shehbaz said that 2024 was a remarkable year for Pakistan, as we marched from default to development overcoming economic challenges with resilience and determination.

“We made difficult but necessary decisions that rescued our economy from collapse, restored macroeconomic stability, controlled fiscal deficits and strengthened our reserves,”

“Amidst other challenges, Pakistan also faced a renewed surge in terrorism in 2024. However, our valiant armed forces, through their blood and sweat, remain steadfast in their commitment to securing a peaceful future for the motherland”. the premier said.

He urged the nation to vow at the beginning of the new year to not hesitate to make any sacrifice to make this country the Pakistan of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

“This country is the trust of our people, we will unite our blood and sweat in its protection and development. I pray that 2025 will be a year of good fortune and immense happiness for our nation. Long live Pakistan!,” the prime minister said.
