Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has stated that the suspension of refugee applications in the country could continue for an extended period, with no clear timeline for when the suspension will end. Trump made this remark during a conversation with journalists aboard Air Force One.

He emphasized, "We don’t want these people in our country. We already have too many problems," adding, "Some third-world countries are not good, and they are full of crime. Countries that can't even take care of their own people—America doesn't need them."

This statement comes just two days after the US announced a halt to all decisions regarding refugee applications. Trump also specifically mentioned countries like Somalia, expressing his ongoing concerns over refugees from such nations.

Additionally, Trump targeted US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar in his comments. Omar, the first Somali-American member of Congress, who came to the US as a refugee two decades ago, became a subject of Trump’s criticism. The president questioned her political standing, challenging her position as an example of the kind of individuals he believes America does not need.
