Islamabad (Web Desk): The government has reduced prices of petrol by Rs6.17 and high speed diesel by 10.86 rupees per liter for next fortnight.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the revised rates will be effective from August 1.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) worked out the consumer prices for the upcoming fortnight, based on international prices and exchange rate variations, the notification stated.
After the reduction the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs269.77 per litre while new price of diesel is now at Rs272.77 per litre.
Meanwhile, there are reductions for light diesel and kerosene. Light diesel prices have been lowered by Rs5.72 per liter, bringing the cost to Rs160.53, while kerosene prices have dropped by Rs5.72 per liter, now at Rs177.39.
