Lahore (Web Desk): The 15th death anniversary of classical singer Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan was observed on Saturday.

A distinguished scion of the Shaam Chaurasi Gharana, Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan was the eldest progeny of the revered Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.

Born in Multan in 1955, his musical journey began early, steeped in the rich traditions of the gharana, which he carried forward with great mastery and devotion.

Educated at Government College in Lahore, Ustad Sharafat not only honed his craft but became a global ambassador of classical music, performing across continents.

He lent his voice to over 100 prestigious music festivals worldwide, each performance a testament to his profound command over the khayal and thumri forms.

His artistry was not confined to the stage; he also imparted his deep knowledge of classical music through lectures at various universities, fostering a new generation of music enthusiasts.
