Islamabad (Web Desk): The Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday stated that Pakistan is doing its “utmost” to bring the United States (US) and Iran back to the negotiating table under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Addressing the weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that diplomacy and constructive dialogue are the only effective means of resolving the current tensions and conflict in the Middle East.
He said Pakistan supports every initiative aimed at preserving the ceasefire and reviving negotiations between Iran and the United States (US).
The FO spokesperson said Pakistan is engaged and will continue to play its role in this regard. He said negotiations between the parties are ongoing to normalise the situation.
Andrabi said Pakistan is making every effort to bring the relevant parties back under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), allowing outstanding issues to be settled in accordance with the spirit of the Islamabad MoU and the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Statement issued on June 22.

He also urged all sides to demonstrate maximum restraint and honour their commitment to resume technical-level discussions for the implementation of the Islamabad MoU.
Responding to a question regarding DW's documentary on Pakistan's nuclear security programme, Andrabi dismissed the report as misleading, speculative and based on biased sources.
He said the documentary either reflects a serious lack of understanding or a deliberate attempt to ignore the history, development and purpose behind Pakistan's nuclear programme.
The FO spokesperson maintained that Pakistan has complete confidence in its robust command and control system, supported by a comprehensive legal, technical and institutional framework that ensures nuclear safety and security.
He said that these mechanisms meet the highest international standards and have repeatedly been recognised by independent international experts.
Answering another question, the spokesperson slammed the Indian government's decision to block access to the social media accounts of Pakistan TV Digital and several other Pakistani platforms, describing it as part of India's continuing practice of restricting the flow of information.
He urged the international community, including global media organisations, to take serious notice of India's actions against the media.
