Death toll rises to 65 as snowstorm causes devastation in eastern US

Washington (Web Desk): A severe snowstorm in the eastern United States (US) has caused widespread destruction, with the death toll rising to 65 due to various accidents. Temperatures have plunged below freezing, with Chicago recording -14°C and Cleveland at -11°C.

In Tennessee and Mississippi, intermittent heavy snowfall has left over 100,000 people without electricity. The snowstorm has also severely disrupted air travel, with 653 American Airlines flights canceled and 1,077 delayed on Wednesday.

Operations at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport have been significantly affected due to the snow and rain. In response, American Airlines has offered its staff double pay for extra shifts to cope with the ongoing situation.

The National Weather Service has forecasted severe cold winds in New York and New Jersey, and the freezing weather is expected to persist until next week.
