Karachi (Staff Report): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday demanded the resignation of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah after his name was placed on Exit Control List (ECL) for alleged involvement in the money laundering through fake accounts.
Talking to newsmen, PTI’s Member of Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman said that the report of Joint investigation Team (JIT) proves the involvement of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders in the worst form of corruption in Sindh.
He said that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah should immediately resign as his name surfaced in the JIT report.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda in Lahore, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad also called for the resignation of the Sindh CM.
Addressing the newsmen Faisal Vawda also said that the Shah should resign from the post after his name emerged in the money laundering case.
Earlier, the federal government issued a list of 172 suspects whose names have been put on ECL following the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report on money laundering through fake bank accounts.
The top leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) including party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur, Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah, former chief minister Qaim Ali Shah, provincial ministers Mukesh Chawla, Imtiaz Shaikh and former home minister Sohail Anwar Siyal are among those barred from flying abroad.
The names of various provincial government officials, bank officials and property tycoons have also been placed on the ECL.
