Kandhkot (Web Desk): At least Eight people, including five children, died and five others were injured after a rocket launcher’s shell exploded in a house on Wednesday in Kandhkot tehsil of Sindh's Kashmore district.
According to the initial reports, the rocket launcher was found by children on an agricultural land which they brought home where it exploded.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kandhkhot Rohail Khoso that the incident took place in a house in the Ghora Ghat of kutcha (riverine) area.
As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue officials rushed to the area and shifted the bodies and injured people to the hospital whereas an investigation into the matter has been started.
Taking notice of the incident, Sindh caretaker Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar sought a detailed report from Inspector-General (IG) Dr Riffat Mukhtar.
The interim CM questioned how the rocket launcher reached the village.
"Was any stock of weapons being smuggled to the kutcha areas? Are there facilitators of the dacoits present in the village?, the Sindh CM questioned the authorities concerned and asked them to submit a detailed report regarding the incident.
