Frankfurt (Web Desk): Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has revealed that the United States (US) and Iran have been in indirect communication and are preparing to meet in Pakistan in a bid to bring an end to the ongoing war.
Speaking before the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in France, Wadephul emphasized Pakistan’s cordial relations with Iran and its readiness to host the talks.
According to FM Wadephul, indirect contacts between the two sides have already taken place, and arrangements for a direct, face-to-face discussion are in place.
He added that these negotiations are expected to occur in Pakistan “very soon.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington is actively negotiating with Tehran to resolve the conflict, while Iranian officials and military leaders have consistently insisted that no talks with the United States are underway.
