US fleet reaches Israel amid Geneva talks to intensify pressure on Iran

Washington / Tel Aviv (Web Desk): Tensions in the Middle East have intensified amid rising global friction between the United States and Iran. While a new round of talks is underway in Geneva, the US Navy’s latest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford, has arrived in Israel, signaling a major attempt to exert military pressure on Tehran.

According to US defense sources, the Gerald R. Ford was stationed at a US base on the Greek island of Crete on Monday before being deployed to Israel. Alongside the carrier, the region currently hosts USS Abraham Lincoln and two other US aircraft carriers, as well as nine destroyers, a concentration of naval power experts say is unprecedented and indicative of heightened military readiness.

The US embassy in Athens has remained tight-lipped on the movement, deferring all details to the Pentagon.

Despite the Geneva talks on February 26, Washington has maintained a hardline stance. President Donald Trump warned that if Iran fails to comply with the proposed conditions and three key demands for a new nuclear deal, further military action could follow.

Western nations remain concerned that Tehran is advancing toward nuclear weapons development, a claim that Iran has consistently denied. The combination of diplomatic negotiations and heightened military deployment underscores the precarious situation in the region.
