Washington (Web Desk): The United States (US) and Israel have escalated military actions against Iran, carrying out extensive airstrikes and targeting underground nuclear facilities.
According to Emil Baird Cooper of the US Central Command, nearly 2,000 locations in Iran have been hit, including 17 naval vessels and a submarine.
He claimed that there are now no Iranian naval ships in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman.
The US operation involves 50,000 personnel and 200 fighter jets, and Iranian ballistic missiles and drones have also been neutralized. Officials described the offensive as an effort to halt Iran’s nuclear and military programs.
Meanwhile, Israel claimed responsibility for an airstrike on an underground nuclear installation in Iran, where work on critical components for nuclear weapons was reportedly underway.
Israeli authorities said the strike was guided by precise intelligence, while Iran has yet to issue an official response.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, and protecting American embassies and military personnel remains the top priority.
The US has announced that operations against Iran will continue, and roughly 9,000 American citizens have already been evacuated from the region.
President Donald Trump recently stated that Iran’s air force, navy, and leadership have been effectively incapacitated and that military action will persist until all intended objectives are achieved.v
