Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Friday announced that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq has so far resulted in the killing of 274 members affiliated with the Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khwarij, while more than 400 others have been injured.
Speaking at a media briefing, the military spokesperson stated that Pakistan’s armed forces have dismantled 73 enemy posts and taken control of 18 additional positions.
He further noted that preliminary but cautious assessments indicate the destruction of 115 pieces of military hardware, including tanks, armoured personnel carriers, and artillery systems.
The DG ISPR said that forces of the Afghan Taliban regime initiated hostilities by firing at 53 different locations spanning 15 sectors along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
In retaliation, Pakistani security forces effectively countered the assaults and neutralised 274 personnel belonging to the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khwarij.
Lt Gen Chaudhry disclosed that 22 sites in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika were identified and engaged during the course of the operation.
He emphasised that the targets were selected strictly on the basis of verified intelligence and were confined to military objectives, with deliberate measures taken to prevent harm to civilians.
The DG ISPR explained that the strikes focused on key installations such as corps headquarters, brigade and battalion command centres, sector headquarters, ammunition storage facilities, logistical hubs, and hideouts used to shelter militants and their supporters.
The military’s spokesperson also revealed that that during the strikes, Afghan Taliban fighters and associated militants vacated multiple locations, leaving behind their deceased. He said those dead bodies have been respectfully preserved as per Geneva protocol.
Regarding sacrifices of the Pakistan armed forces, the DG ISPR said that 12 brave sons of the soil have embraced martyrdom so far, while 27 others sustained injuries while safeguarding Pakistan’s territorial integrity. One soldier remains missing in action, he added.
Lt Gen Chaudhry further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sahrif was was also briefed in detail on the operation, “Ghazab lil-Haq”, including the overall security situation and measures taken to thwart enemy conspiracies.
The DG ISPR asserted that recent attacks and cross-border activities indicate the involvement of a “master proxy” aiming to target Pakistan.
