Karachi (Web Desk): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued to appreciate against the US dollar, gaining Rs1.18 during the opening hours of trading in the inter-bank market on Tuesday.
The US dollar was trading for Rs289.78 during the opening hours of trading in the inter-bank market, according to Forex Association of Pakistan, down by Rs1.18 from yesterday’s close of Rs290.86.
The rupee has maintained its upward trajectory that has continued since the army-backed crackdown on the illegal trade of the dollar began earlier this month.
The Pakistani rupee recovered nearly 6 percent since hitting a record low of 307.1 against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on September 5.
