Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned Israel’s strikes against Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that these military strikes against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran are a grave violation of the United Nations (UN) Charter and the international law.
“These strikes undermine path to regional peace and stability and also constitute a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region. Israel bears full responsibility for the current cycle of escalation and expansion of the conflict,” Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson said in a press statement.
Pakistan called on the UN Security council to play its role for the maintenance of international peace and security and to take immediate steps to bring an end to Israeli recklessness in the region and its criminal behaviour.
“The international community must also play its role for restoring regional peace and security, the FO stated.
Early on Saturday, Israel announced that it had conducted "precise strikes" on military installations in Iran, with explosions reported in the capital, Tehran.
According to Israeli army radio, a significant number of Israeli aircraft participated in the operation, targeting sites in Tehran, Meshed, and a power station in Karaj.
The Israeli military later confirmed that the targeted airstrikes on Iranian military facilities had been completed.
These actions were carried out in retaliation for missile attacks from Tehran on October 1, which had aimed at Israel.
This latest round of hostilities highlights the escalating tensions between the two nations and raises concerns about the potential for further military conflict in the region.
