Legendary actress Khalida Riyasat remembered on death anniversary 

Karachi (Web Desk): The 28th death anniversary of acclaimed television artist Khalida Riyasat is being observed today (Wednesday) across the country, with tributes recalling her significant contribution to the television industry.

Khalida Riasat stepped into the world of professional acting during the 1970s and made her television debut with the drama serial “Naamdar”.

Born in Karachi in 1953, she was the younger sister of well-known television personality Ayesha Khan.

She gained widespread recognition after appearing in Haseena Moin’s popular drama serial “Bandish”, which helped establish her as a prominent name in Pakistani television.

During the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, she was among the leading female performers who ruled television screens, sharing the spotlight with celebrated actresses Roohi Bano and Uzma Gillani.

Throughout her career, Khalida Riasat appeared in several memorable dramas, television series and long plays, including “Half-Plate”, “Ta’abeer”, “Khaleej”, “Parosi”, “Panah”, and “Dasht-e-Tanhai”.

The veteran actress passed away from cancer on August 26, 1996, bringing an end to a remarkable career that continues to be remembered by television audiences.
