3rd Test, Day 2: Pakistan all-out for 344, England score 24/3 at stumps

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): England encountered early setbacks against Pakistan on the second day of the third and final Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, as the hosts finished their first innings at 344 runs.

As England began their second innings, they quickly lost two openers: Ben Duckett was dismissed by Sajid Khan and Zak Crawley by Noman Ali.

Pakistan maintained their grip on the match when Noman sent Ollie Pope back to the pavilion, leaving England struggling at 20/3 after just eight overs. The day's play was halted due to poor light after only nine overs, with England ending on 24/3 and trailing by 53 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan made a strong comeback after being in trouble at 46/3, thanks to a gritty century from Saud Shakeel.

He played a pivotal role, forming three significant partnerships, which helped Pakistan reach 267/8 by tea while his crucial 88-run partnership with Noman Ali, who scored 45, was vital in stabilizing the innings.

Saud's century, which featured only four boundaries, highlighted his disciplined batting. Despite facing challenges, including the dismissal of captain Shan Masood for 26 by Shoaib Bashir, Saud stood firm.

Rehan Ahmed (3-54) made a swift impact, removing Mohammad Rizwan (25) and Salman Agha in quick succession.

Saud celebrated his hundred with a subdued fist pump and a brief moment with Noman before Noman was dismissed LBW by Bashir, marking England's sole success in the post-lunch session.

With the series tied at 1-1, the competition remains intense.
