Mideast conflict: Saudi Crown Prince MBS lauds Pakistan’s peace efforts as PM Shehbaz briefs him on diplomatic outreach

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, during which he apprised him of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with various stakeholders and stressed the importance of reducing tensions and settling disputes through dialogue and diplomatic channels.

The early morning interaction, described as “warm and cordial,” saw the crown prince acknowledging and valuing Pakistan’s efforts aimed at fostering peace.

PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s firm condemnation of the recent strikes against Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed complete solidarity and steadfast support for the Kingdom and its citizens in the face of the current situation.

He praised the Saudi leadership for exercising considerable restraint amid the prevailing crisis and assured that Pakistan would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia and its people, just as the Kingdom has consistently extended its support to Pakistan over the years.

Emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to hostilities, the prime minister called for a swift restoration of normal conditions to help stabilize the region.

He also highlighted the growing necessity for unity and cohesion within the Muslim Ummah at a time of heightened challenges.

PM Shehbaz conveyed his heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the crown prince, and the people of Saudi Arabia, with the crown prince returning the sentiments in kind.
