Iconic broadcaster Kanwal Naseer remembered on her death anniversary

Islamabad (Web Desk): The fifth death anniversary of iconic broadcaster and artist Kanwal Naseer is being observed today (Wednesday).

She was the daughter of the eminent radio artist Mohni Hameed, widely known as Apa Shameem, and went on to carve her own distinguished path in broadcasting.

Over the course of nearly 50 years, she remained associated with Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan, dedicating her life to the development of electronic media in the country.

Kanwal Naseer achieved several historic milestones, becoming the country’s first woman anchor, its first female newsreader, and the first female announcer on PTV, paving the way for women in the field.

In appreciation of her outstanding services, she received the Pride of Performance along with numerous other national distinctions.

Kanwal Naseer passed away on this day in 2021, leaving a profound and lasting impact on the world of broadcasting.
