Iran now the 'most serious' yet in talks with US, says Donald Trump

Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that Iran is demonstrating greater seriousness in the ongoing negotiations with the United States (US), adding that the prospects for progress are improving with each passing day.

Speaking about the state of US-Iran relations, Trump said diplomatic contacts between the two countries remain active, although no final decision has been made on whether the United States will launch large-scale military strikes against Iran.

"We are continuing talks with Iran," Trump said, adding that Washington is carefully assessing the situation and evaluating the possibility of reaching a potential agreement with Tehran.

He noted that discussions remain ongoing and that the administration is monitoring developments before making any major decisions.

The US president also issued a warning to China and Russia, saying it would be "extremely damaging" for either country to provide weapons to Iran.

He stressed that any military support for Tehran by Beijing or Moscow would have serious consequences.

Trump revealed that during his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he was assured that China would not supply arms to Iran.

According to Trump, the Chinese leader gave him confidence that Beijing had no intention of sending weapons to Tehran.

The US president further said he does not believe that either China or Russia is currently supplying Iran with military equipment.

He added that Washington is closely monitoring the negotiations with Tehran while keeping a close watch on regional developments and the actions of other global powers.

Trump's remarks come as diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran continue amid heightened regional tensions, with both sides exploring the possibility of a broader understanding while key security issues remain unresolved.
