Interior Minister Naqvi reviews Diplomatic Enclave development, orders new security plan 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad to review ongoing development work and assess progress on key infrastructure projects.

During his visit, Naqvi examined the ongoing construction work and called for faster execution of the projects without compromising environmental safeguards or the quality of facilities available to residents.

The interior minister was briefed on the work being carried out on the enclave’s boundary wall, the renovation of security checkpoints, as well as the construction of dedicated cycling and walking tracks.

Naqvi directed the authorities to keep construction of the boundary wall moving steadily and made it clear that no trees should be removed during the development process.

He also called for the cycling and pedestrian tracks to be designed and completed in line with modern standards so that residents could have access to improved recreational spaces within the enclave.

The interior minister further ordered the relevant departments to expand roads in the area in order to ease traffic congestion and make movement more convenient.

During the visit, Naqvi instructed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to formulate an updated and detailed security strategy for the Diplomatic Enclave.

He said the security arrangements must reflect present-day requirements while also accommodating the needs of diplomatic missions and people living in the area.

Naqvi also announced plans to rehabilitate and improve parks located inside the Diplomatic Enclave. He said that the government was working to turn the enclave into a secure, properly managed diplomatic area equipped with upgraded infrastructure and better public spaces.

The minister directed the authorities to ensure that residents receive facilities comparable to international standards.

During a briefing, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman updated Naqvi on the status of ongoing development schemes as well as proposed projects for the enclave. Officials also briefed him on expected completion schedules and steps being taken to implement the plans.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officers were also present during the visit and reviewed the progress of the projects alongside the interior minister.
